3D Models

For scientific purposes we provide some of the data we have scanned using the Minolta VIVID-900 3D scanner and an Isel RF1 rotary stage. The scanned point set surfaces were triangulated using Raindrop Geomagic Studio and then exported in the OBJ format. The models contain on average 1/4-1/2 million points and 1/2-1 million triangles.

The CDM data format is the native format of the Minolta 3D scanner and contains the raw scan data. The OBJ data format is an ASCII format that contains a list of vertices (with possibly RGB color values) followed by a list of triangles. A row of the vertex list has the format "x y z r g b", and a row of the triangle list contains the indices to the three corners of each triangle, whose coordinates are stored in the vertex list.
