How to get to TU (or to your hotel)

• Inside of Vienna, use public transport, which is generally efficient and safe and reasonably cheap.

  TU Wien is very close to U Bahn station Karlsplatz, as well as Tramway 1 and 62 Station Resselgasse (and a bit farther, maybe 5min walk, from Tram station Oper)

• To get to TU Wien (or your hotel) from the airport, you have the following options:

  • Railway S7 (runs every 30min). This is the cheapest option (4.80 EUR), reliable and reasonably efficient.
    • To TU, get off S7 at Wien, then take subway U4 direction Hütteldorf, 2 stops to Karlsplatz.
    • The same for any of the hotels in walking distance of TU (such as Kaiserhof).
    • To Trend hotel, get off S7 at Praterstern, then take subway U1 direction Oberlaa and get out at Südtiroler Platz.
  • The CAT is basically the same, but slighty faster and a lot more expensive.
  • If you want to get a Taxi, then we recommend to book one in advance (which is usually cheaper than just hailing one at the airport). Just google "airport taxi Wien" or similar. There are many companies, unfortunately we cannot give reliable recommendations (it seems the operators change frequently). Sometimes you have to wait a while at the airport before you are picked up. Generally, unless you have reduced mobility, lots of luggage, or arrive outside of the train operating hours, we would recomment to just take the S7.

Hauptgebäude building

Coming from Freihaus, you can use this entry, or the main entrance.

HS8

Room number AE0141.

This lecture hall has entrances in floors 1 and 2 (Note: ground floor is 0).

Note that due to construction work in the Hauptgebäude, the usual way to get to HS 8 is blocked. We recommend this way.

Freihaus building

All rooms, apart from FH HS1 (red), and the Seminarräume gelb (yellow), are in the green area of the Freihaus.

The Main Entrance to Freihaus is Wiedner Hauptrasse 4
